Depth and Space
Being in Philadelphia last weekend, I took advantage of the beautiful scenery to take photos for depth and space. The photo on the top left is of a park that was walled in by a brick wall. The brick wall makes up the foreground of the photo and creates space with the rest of the park in the middle ground and background. Next to that photo on the top right is a snapshot outside a museum of the stairs, which zig zagged back and forth. The stairs, which were white and contrasted with the red bricks, created leading lines to draw the eye to the back ground of the photo (the street). This created a lot of space in the photo, although it had a shallow depth of field since the stairs in the foreground were more in focus than the other stairs in the middle ground and the street in the background. The photo on the bottom right is an example of framing. Taken inside the capitol building, the arches and pillars framed the light coming from the other side and the two people walking toward it (my dad and my brother).
