Motion
In this assignment, we used different shutter speeds to capture motion. A slow shutter speed showed the moving object blurring as it moved, while a fast shutter speed captured the object in motion pretty clearly with little to no blur. My strongest slow shutter speed photo is at the top left, which was taken in my school's courtyard with a shutter speed of about 5 seconds. The camera was angled directly at the tree from just a little bit below looking up at the branch. This photo captures the motion of the tree branch as it moves, with the different colors of the leaves creating a colorful blur. My strongest fast shutter speed photo is at the top middle, which was also taken in my school's courtyard. The shutter speed was set to about half a second. We had set the camera up on a tripod with a timer and the camera was pointed down on the ground at our shadows while we waved our arms, which was the motion captured when the shutter closed. The fast shutter speed made the photo very sharp, and the paint on the ground added some interest to the photo.
